Best Crating Solutions for Fragile Equipment

Fragile industrial equipment – precision instruments, optical systems, laboratory equipment, medical devices, and sensitive electronics – requires crating solutions that go far beyond simple containment. These items can be damaged by forces as low as 5-10G, far below what standard packaging is designed to withstand. Specialized crating with shock mounting, foam lining, and vibration isolation is essential.

Spring or elastomer mounts isolate the equipment from external shocks. The equipment floats inside the crate on these mounts, which absorb impact energy from drops and rough handling. Shock mounts are rated by frequency response and can be tuned to the specific fragility of your equipment.

Closed-cell polyethylene or polyurethane foam is CNC-cut to match the exact contours of the equipment. This provides uniform support across all surfaces, preventing point loading and distributing any impact forces evenly. Foam density is selected based on equipment weight and fragility.
