Most in-transit damage is not impact damage. It is corrosion, condensation and load shift — and all three are controlled by consumables rather than by the crate. A container crossing the equator goes through repeated dew-point cycles, and whether steel arrives bright or rusted comes down to whether the right desiccant, VCI and barrier were specified.
